OUR STORY

We make fine jewelry so sentimental you’ll never want to take it off. And it’s truly ethical and eco-friendly. #winwin

Eye Spy: There are six pieces of jewelry hidden in our flower heart. Can you find them all?

INSPIRED BY LOVE

We’ve always had a thing for pretty stones and shiny metals. But it wasn’t until we got married that we realized the true power of jewelry: the ability to express the heart. Wrapped around our fingers was something far more precious than diamonds or gold. It was our love story, so beautifully told. And there, in that moment, we realized we could share that love.

Every piece we make is designed from the heart with a deeply moving meaning in mind with the hope that it will tell your story. That it will celebrate who you are and what you love, and deepen your relationships, with both yourself and those you treasure most.

Our pieces are so much more than pretty baubles. They’re symbols of your life, your love, your hopes and dreams. They’re like tattoos, so personal — so sentimental — you’ll never want to take them off.

We hope our pieces touch your heart and bring you joy each and every time you wear them.

OUR PROMISE

Every piece we make is hand-crafted with love using the finest ethical and eco-friendly materials in the world.

Fun Fact: All our pieces begin the old fashioned way, with a hand-drawn sketch.

MADE WITH LOVE

When we set out to make jewelry, we had only one objective: to be a true expression of love. It was the ultimate challenge. For love does no harm, which meant neither could we. It wasn’t enough to simply design pieces symbolizing love, they also had to be made with love. Every step of the process — from the materials to the manufacturing — had to produce a positive impact.

That’s why we only use the most ethical and eco materials in the world. And we don’t just say it. We mean it.

We spent the better part of a year searching every corner of the world for the most ethical diamonds on earth. After numerous dead ends, we finally found a remarkable mine Down Under containing the hardest diamonds in the world. Unlike standard diamonds, these spectacularly strong beauties possess a unique internal graining which makes them far more difficult to polish. As a result, they must be cut in a special facility, which allows every step of their journey to you — where they’re mined, cut, polished and set — to be documented and verified to ensure no human, animal or ecological environment was hurt in their procurement. Less than .01% of all diamonds in the world can claim such extraordinary ethical excellence.

And it’s that level of exceptional excellence we require from every single precious metal and stone we use. We only send the best of the best to our expert craftsman, who — in their artisanal studio in the heart of Los Angeles, California — lovingly transform them into stunning heirlooms so spectacular they’ll affectionately be passed down for generations to come.

OUR LORE

In Croatian, Murvica means “the place of the mulberry,” which is the tree of love. Even its leaves are shaped like hearts.

Fun Fact: Love is patient … like the Mulberry tree, which always waits to bud until after the last frost.

IN THE NAME OF LOVE

Our name hails from the little town in Croatia where we honeymooned. It was there, on a sun-drenched beach surrounded by aquamarine water and soft, lapping waves, that we first dreamed of making jewelry inspired by love. At the time, we didn’t know the significance of that magical moment and place. But when we came home, we realized fate knows what she’s doing.

In Croatian, Murvica means, “the place of the mulberries.” For centuries the mulberry tree has been the tree of true love thanks to Roman poet Ovid. In his poem Metamorphoses, Pyramus and Thisbe — the inspiration for Romeo and Juliet — were forbidden to marry by their feuding parents. They decided to elope, but a tragic misunderstanding led both lovers to take their lives for the other under a mulberry tree covered in snow-white berries. The gods, so moved by their sacrifice, forever changed the color of mulberries to blood-red in celebration of their true love.

But it’s not just the berries that embody love. Mulberry leaves change shape as they mature, starting as lobed ovals and growing into perfect hearts — symbolizing the journey of true love.

Our logo, inspired by the mulberry leaf, features a heart shape symbolizing the eternal tenderness of love, pointed edges — which spiral like armor — signifying the endless strength of love, and 15 sections representing each of the 15 characteristics of love outlined in Corinthians 13: 4-8.

Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.
Love never fails.

It’s that sentiment we hope to capture in every piece we make.

With love,
The Murvica Team
